The Officers and Leadership Circle of the Congregational Church of West Medford | Sanctuary UCC issue this call to the 2020 Annual Congregational Visioning Meeting (and Process) as defined by our by-laws, the schedule for which was adjusted in a Special Congregational Meeting on 5/31/2020.
As per the bylaws, the purpose of this annual Visioning Meeting is to:
a) Review and assess the congregation’s mission, ministries, objectives, and goals; and
b) Make adjustments as called for from the dialogue and discernment. (Article IV. Section B).
The Leadership Circle and Discernment Team have developed a visioning process centered in scripture and contemplative prayer. The model is outlined here and will be used over the next year as a congregation-wide spiritual practice, a way to orient our faith and our ministry, and a path to discernment – for now and for the future.
The visioning process begins in an initial meeting (9/27), continues in small prayer circles, reconnects to the whole (10/25), returns to small prayer circles and will continue in this cycle as discernment unfolds in the midst of Covid19 and the safety measures we must practice.
