What is Sanctuary to Be?

The initiating (or exploration) phase of any discovery process begins with where you came from and where you are right now. Please take the time to review this Overview of the Sanctuary Story as you participate in the Discernment Process.

2023 Discernment Part One: Initiating

  1. Explore: Stakeholder questionnaire to understand the objective of this process through the eyes of Sanctuary leadership, Hillside leadership, Sanctuary members/partners/friends, Hillside membership, and the community at large. 
    1. Ask Stakeholders – how do you want to be involved?
      1. Discernment Core Team Meetings are for doing the planning, work, and discernment
      2. All Hands Meeting is where you will be included and informed
    2. Possible Questions:
      1. What are the options for Sanctuary in the future?
      2. What aspects of Sanctuary do you care about the most?
      3. What is your opinion of the impact of Sanctuary?
      4. Question about Costs/Money
      5. How would you like to be involved?
  2. Objective: Create a specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound objective for the “Sanctuary 2023 Discernment Process.” 
  3. Scope: Define what aspects of this process are necessary to achieve the objective. 
  4. Resources: Identify and source the resources necessary to achieve the objective.
  5. Timeline: Create a timeline for achieving the objective, using milestones to mark deliverables along the way.
  6. Budget: Consider and create a budget if compensation or purchases are necessary to conduct this exploration and decision-making.
